I’m like, “Help me, what do I do?” and he was like, “Just go out there, have fun, relax.
Right before I started, I was under the weather and I was talking to Ed Sheeran. HS: Luckily, I have incredible friends who’ve experienced things like this. TV: Did anyone give you pointers like that for Jingle Ball? HS: Yeah! I remember everyone saying, “Look around, take it all in, it’s gonna be over before you know it,” and I got off stage like, what the heck just happened? How is this something that she does casually every night? Was that something of a crash course for playing inside of a big stadium? TV: You performed for a big audience when Taylor Swift brought you on stage for the 1989 tour. It’s one of those things that’s hard to explain, but you have to be there to see and feel it. The crowd has been so supportive - they were singing along! Now I feel like I know what artists are talking about when they say there’s nothing like it. TV: What was the audience response like when you went up on stage? Everybody has been putting on an amazing show. Gosh, there’s so many…The Weeknd, Nick Jonas.everybody. HS: Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, 5 Seconds of Summer, Charlie Puth. Teen Vogue caught up with her to talk about her favorite song from the release, how her friends helped her with pre-show jitters, and what she's most excited to do during this holiday break. Hailee just finished performing at 9 of Jingle Ball's 11 concerts, and while that might be a rigorous schedule for anyone to endure, she didn't have to go it alone. So what's a super-talented gal to do after her songs drop? Why, take them on the road, of course. (Gee, kinda makes your extra-curriculars look light in comparison, doesn't it?) But music was a natural fit for the multi-hyphenate - after all, she did star in Pitch Perfect 2, and if there's one thing the Barden Bellas don't do, it's settle for second place. But this year, she proved she wasn't when she dropped her first single, "Love Myself," and the followup EP, Haiz.and all before she turned 19.
With an Oscar nomination by age 14 and countless appearances on best-dressed lists to her name, you'd think Hailee Steinfeld would be content with those accolades.
